Very cheap and its stainless steel. Used it on a couple of occasions and it worked fine. It is true it is very thin, but so far had no problems.

One thing to note though is that they the 3 glass coverings are considered part of the 7 pieces (I mean they're not even stainless steel), which I honestly find to be ridiculous. Hence 3 instead of 4 stars

I purchased this set because it was cheap and the reviews were reasonably good. However, I was very disappointed with the product. It arrived dented which could have been partly because of poor packaging but the metal is so thin that denting would be inevitable. The handles are also quite flimsy. I urgently needed to use this set as I had just moved and was having company over and thus could not return it. However, I would not recommend this set to anyone.

Nice i found this set, just dont keep it in too much heat to avoid making color while frying items.

Even if it does color due to excess heat for the price of $25 this seems perfect size and sturdy and dishwasher safe.

This is my first purchase for a stainless steel set of cookware. I usually use nonstick kind, but mine has been worn out after many years of use.

These pots and pan are lightweight and have nice appearance. The pots are really good for making soups (that way the food doesn't stick to the pots.) The pan, uh, I used it to fry some rice, and it sticks crazily. I tried to soak it in water for a long time and still unable to clean the whole dark burnt marks off the pan. Too bad! I shouldn't have done that with this kind of material anyway.

The handles for the biggest pot seem thin and not so sturdy. They seem a bit loose, but they are strong enough to handle the job.

I definitely love this set for the food safety issue. But for frying, I would recommend using nonstick for easy cleaning. In addition, for the great price, it's good to own one. Thank you Amazon!

What a deal! I guess perhaps some people would be unhappy that the handles feel slightly cheap, but wow the pots are of great quality. Sturdy, stainless steel that cleans easily. Couldn't be happier with this purchase - I feel like it's truly underpriced. Would highly recommend to anyone getting a full set of pots. I don't like when people say it's a "good set for young people starting out" and similar comments. These are great pots, regardless of your income level. Highly recommended!

"Poor imitation of old Revere ware!" 2010-02-06

This is a very poor imitation of what used to be the valued and respected Revere ware of years ago. Interior is pitting after only several weeks of use and the metal is so thin that the bottom stamp shows on the inside bottom. Revere Copper Clad Bottom 1-Quart Saucepan I have used our old complete set of Revereware pots and pans since I was married many years ago and they are ALL still good. I've never had to replace any until recently when the cost of a new handle for a small sauce pan was almost as much as a new pan. Even the handle on the new pan has no screws to remove or replace it.

Love the size and shape of this pan. I've sauteed meat in it. I've simmered soup in it. The pan is indestructible: I burned some chicken once accidentally, yet the pan cleaned up completely with just a little scrubbing. The handles are steel; they get hot. However, the pan can be moved from stove to oven to broiler, which makes it perfect for braised meats and browned toppings. The hard-anodized surface is not quite as non-stick as some anodized aluminum surfaces, but the durability and versatility of this cookware more than compensate for the small amount of extra effort needed to clean it. I like the entire Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized line of cookware; all the pans are well suited to real-world, every-day meal preparation.

It's on the heavy side for me, I'm a small person. But, it cooks evenly, and is big enough to cook soupy items in my kitchen. Handle can get slightly heated closer to the pan, but I've never needed to use a potholder so far. Same goes for the lid, and it's not glass so I'm not worried about breaking it. I had a pot with a glass lid and I couldn't see in anyway, since all you see is steam and condensation.

As always, I wish it was slightly more affordable, but it's still a good buy and it's very useful.

If you need a set of pots to last about a year, like I do (student), then these are a decent choice. The handles were already coming loose when they arrived, and they feel very flimsy, but they are holding up alright. Don't heat them without anything in them; they start to make a disturbing noise.

Like the other reviewers I'm very impressed with the quality of the Ballarini pots and pans. I've had them for about 1 year now and here it goes:

Positive:

- the quality is impressive

- the grooves on the bottom seem to evenly distribute the heat (just watch moving them around on ceran cooktops so you don't scratch anything - this has not happened to me on this cookware but on my previous T-fal pans with grooves...).

- warranty is 5 (yes FIVE!) years and I don't expect to need it

- unlike other reviewers are recommending; they go in the dishwasher in our household and come out right every time

Negative:

- doesn't come with lid but you probably have one that fits it so that's not a big deal.

- on the bigger pans they come with glass lids which for me are too heavy, but you can substitute with same size metal lids from other cookware

All in all I recommend these highly and I have purchased other saucepans and pots from this company and replaced all of my older ones with them.

So, if you're torn between supermarket type quality cookware and some higher priced cookware (like Berndes) - these are the best alternative you could purchase!

I have searched high and low for a dishwasher safe, non-stick pot/saucepan, and I finally found this one. I've used this for a few weeks and it works great! I have cooked pasta in it with no problems and it's gone through the dishwasher a few times with no noticeable signs of wear or damage. Note that it does not come with a lid but since my main goal for this pot is to have something I can cook pasta in for lunch (and cook uncovered) and then throw it into the dishwasher, I think I found my perfect pot! For the culinary challenged, this is about the right size to cook a Pasta Roni or similar boxed pasta meal in. In other words this is a "Medium Saucepan."

This one quart saucepan by Ballarini proves that remarkably well constructed cookware can still be bought at reasonable prices. The saucepan/pot is made using aluminum and the enamel exterior proves that this is no ordinary piece of cookware! Naturally, this pot's primarily use is as a saucepan; but its depth lets me use it also as an all purpose pot. I find this pot to be the perfect size for boiling water and then cooking things like pasta when I've having company and a smaller pot just won't do.

The grooved tracks on the underside of the pot impress me greatly: they enable the heat to quickly become evenly distributed under the pot, just as Amazon notes. This saves energy as well--the contents of the pot (or saucepan) get hot faster. It's green!

The ergonomic phenolic handle is indeed easy to grip. Although Amazon says you could wash this pot in the dishwasher, I would hand wash it only. You can use dishwashing liquid soap like Dawn to get it clean; and a Brillo pad doesn't seem to affect the interior of the pan at all when removing food residue. If you must, however, you can wash this in the dishwasher.

It comes with a five year warranty but I highly doubt you'll ever need it. My warranty must be languishing in a closet somewhere around my home! It's very well constructed; you can tell just by the feel of it.

Overall, Ballarini makes an incredibly useful and versatile saucepan that also can be used as a plain old pot. Great! The price is right and the warranty impresses me. Get one of these today and use it in good health!

I bought this a few months ago to get away from the non-stick cookware. This is a very good set with a good variety of sizes. Although I'm not a hard core cook, this cleans up well and heats up quickly (that took some getting used to after the non-stick). I also like the glass lids so you can monitor what's going on. The weight is good without being too heavy and the handles are very comfortable. After comparing this closely to very expensive cookware at a local department store, this is a flat out bargain for the money and it's beautiful.

Had really high hopes for this set but sadly I had an experience just like someone else posted here with the inside base of a pot erupting with corrosion pits and bumps after just one use of boiling water. Very disappointing. Water was not allowed to boil dry in the pot but I do believe the residual heat caused the weak metal to instantly corrode like this. Boiled water in another pot to see if the same thing would happen, only this time I filled the pot up with water again after pouring out the boiling water and this seems to have helped avoid the problem. So, my advice for anyone purchasing this set is to not only not let water boil dry in them but to never let them sit hot without any liquid in them, even after cooking. It's too bad because it's a beautiful looking set but I just don't think it's high enough quality metal.

I purchased millenium after I bought enamel set and read instructions not to be used with ceramic tops. Stinless steel makes pots pretty heavy but very durable. Takes awhile for them to heat up on ceramic top, but then they stay hot and consistant. Had some food burn on and had problems getting off, put some vineger and water then let soak for hour and came right off. Food seems to stick less the more I use.

The price was great. At the time they were $[...]. with a $40 rebate. $69 for this set is a bargain. My only complaint is I wish it were a little heavier. All in all I am very pleased with this set.

I bought this cook set 3+ months ago and have now used every piece. I got a great deal on Amazon and also got an additional rebate from the manufacturer.

My first time using my first piece (a saucepan) it got a slight discoloration inside. I had water boiling and added salt to the water just prior to cooking pasta. The small discolored spots were a disappointment. They did not clean off using a variety of methods. Since then I have carefully inspected every piece after use and have no problems at all. The discolored spots appear to be on the surface and not through the surface. No other pans discolored, just the first saucepan

I am pleased to have the stainless (!) pans because my previous nonstick pans were degrading and needed to be discarded.

I am pleased with the solid feel and completely steel exterior. They are easy to clean and look sharp.

I do recommend this cook set. It is a great value for the price. Especially if you can also get the rebate!

My only minor quibble is that the saucepans included are all small. It would have been nice to have one of the three a bit larger.
